Demolition started but not completed.
The RTT-building was designed by Henry Lacoste. The style of the building is Art Deco. Which is beautiful with its location between the dunes of Oostduinkerke.
The building was used as a school and camp place for the children of the Belgacom-staff (former RTT-staff).
The last traces of normal use date from 1998. The building was then already partially demolished. Windows and pieces of wall were removed, but there is still the melancholic atmosphere. You really feel how things were in those days.
The building would be converted into a luxury hotel, but the permissions for the construction had not been delivered cause its location is in protected nature (dunes).
