'Hotel Kosmos' was a recreation area on the Rodeberg, Westouter. The area includes a large parking, an open-air swimming pool, a hotel and lots of other things to do. It was build in 1934 and used as a youth hotel.
In the sixties, it was used for CM-camps, youth movements or schooltrips. During several years the hotel was continuously extended with a large restaurant, a veranda,...
In 2004, the building was classified as protected building. With the result that the owner at this moment not could develop his massive plans with the site. and from then on things only got worse.
The inside of the buildings have been already devastated by vandals and also several small fires.
The curators and neighbours are searching together for a new owner so it becomes possible that the site will be repaired in its old glory.
Since the end of June 2009 the outlook got better...
